Thank you for using barco! Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights related to that information.

1. Information We Collect

a. Location Data

BARCO APP LLC does not store your location data on our servers. We may request access to your device’s location services (via Apple or your device's operating system) to provide real-time, location-based features — such as showing bars near you or contributing to live crowd updates. This data is processed locally on your device. You can control location sharing in your device settings.

b. Camera / Microphone / Photos / Videos

Barco App LLC may request access to your device’s camera, microphone and photo/video library to allow you to capture or upload content (such as Stories) to share with other users. This access is strictly limited to the features you use — we do not access or store any media without your permission.

You can manage or revoke camera, microphone, and photo/video permissions at any time through your device settings.

c. User-Generated Content

You may contribute content such as bar ratings (party, chill, beers, cocktails), Live Status updates, Reviews, and Stories. This content is publicly viewable to other users and may include metadata (such as time of live status update, time of review, time of story post, your username, your first name, your last name).

d. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email, username, first name, last name, phone number (optional), date of birth. We may use your phone number and request access to your contacts to help you find and connect with people you may know who are also using the app. This feature makes it easier to build your network by identifying contacts who have already joined. Your phone number and contacts will not be publicly shared and will only be used in accordance with our privacy practices. We do not give any of this information to third parties. 

If you’re a bar owner, we may collect additional business-related information such as contact details, documents verifying that you are the owner of your business (ex: lease, utility bill, etc.).  These documents are securely collected and stored only for the duration of the verification process. Once the review is complete, the documents are promptly and permanently deleted from our servers. We do not share this information with third parties. 

e. Usage Data

We collect anonymized data on how you interact with the app, such as bars you follow and content you engage with, to improve your experience and app functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

· To provide and improve core features of the app

· To show relevant bars and events based on your preferences and location

· To allow you to post Stories, leave reviews, add ratings, and update bar live statuses

· To help bar owners manage and promote their business on our platform

· To communicate important updates or promotions (you can opt out anytime)

3. Sharing of Information

We do NOT sell your personal information. We may share limited data with third-party services that help us operate (like analytics providers or push notification services), but only as necessary and with appropriate safeguards.

User-generated content (e.g., Stories, Ratings, Live Status, Reviews) is public by default and may be visible to others using the app.

4. Data Retention

We keep your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Stories (any pictures/videos) and Live Status updates may be automatically removed after a set period (e.g., Stories will no longer be publicly available after 24 hours and permanently removed from our records within 7 business days).

5. Security

We use standard security practices to protect your data, but no app or service is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and be cautious about sharing sensitive content.

6. Children’s Privacy

This app is intended for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll notify you about significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
